Shooting range bullet stopping material

Post by darticus »

Somewhere I remember seeing material that could be bought for the back of a shooting range to absorb the bullet. Looking to stop 22's in a home range. Please let me know who has this stuff for sale lost my info. Thanks Ron

First line of defence is a GOOD trap.
I used the Outers .22 trap. Worked great for me.

Second line of defence is IF/WHEN you miss the trap.
A concrete wall is a good idea.
Or 1/4" plate at an angle (maybe 45 dergees) to defect the bullet into a sand pit.

The indoor rifle range in our town uses a large steel plate at 45 degrees to deflect the bullets into a sand trap like the above user posted.

Moving target

Post by darticus »

I have a moving target set up and would like to back it up with a trap maybe I could use 2 or 3 outers traps behind it as its 3 feet long. With the concrete wall behind that. See pic of moving target. Feedback wanted! Thanks Ron

bullet stop

Conveyer belts work great. Factories and quarrys usually pay to get rid of them. One layer will stop a 22. Two will stop a 45 (depending of course on fow thick they are).
