Prone scores from Changwon WC

I think I must've missed an announcement somewhere, but why is the ISSF reporting "X"s for the scores at the Changwon WC? Check out the prone scores:

What qualifies as an "X"? A 10.5 or higher? And why don't they note Xs for the finals? Why not just use decimal scoring throughout?

This rule change came in a the beginning of the year. Centre tens are used to separate ties in the qualifying round instead of the "count back" method.

Okay, thanks, that sort of rings a bell.

Using the handy-dandy search function on the ISSF rules, I found a reference on p. 183 that says an Inner Ten = 5 mm (+/- 0.1 mm). Does this mean than the outside edge of any shot less than 5 mm from the 10 ring makes it an "inner ten"? If so, how do you convert it to a decimal score?

Does this apply to airgun scores as well, or only prone?

decimal score are decimal scores - inner 10s are inner 10s.

For other than 10m Air Pistol the inner 10's coincide with a 1/10 ring decimal score: for Air Pistol an inner 10 is between 10.4 and 10.5 (=/< 4.75mm to the centre of the shot - which is a bummer with the current ring scoring machines!!!, however outward scoring gauges are available)
