I've just heard that, unsurprisingly in light of the German rules, they are checking cylinders.David Levene wrote:Yes it is this week, but as it is not an ISSF supervised meeting and being held under the auspices of the DSB I don't think we will learn much about what the ISSF intention was.RobStubbs wrote:Is Dortmund this coming week ? If so it'll be interesting to hear if cylinders are being checked there.

I can't answer that Fred but I would doubt it. Most people shooting at that match will have heard of the failures at Munich in January.Fred Mannis wrote:It would be interesting to find out if any cylinders failed inspection.
I was with one of our English shooters yesterday and we made sure that he had plenty of "under 10" cylinders with him. The fact that he has a Morini, who are still sticking by their 20 years, would not have exempted him from the German rules.

I stand corrected; thanks Scott. As it was he was well prepared for a 10 year limit if it had applied.pilkguns wrote:To my knowledge, this is not true. DSB is honoring Morini's 20 year certification.David Levene wrote:[The fact that he has a Morini, who are still sticking by their 20 years, would not have exempted him from the German rules.
Cylinder life
IM I correct in saying that Morini cylinders have a 20 year life?

Re: Cylinder life
Looking at Scott's post two above this, I'd suggest that's correct.jak10x1 wrote:IM I correct in saying that Morini cylinders have a 20 year life?

10 year cylinder life
Mine also have 20 year max, but how does the 10 year life relate to them?

Re: 10 year cylinder life
It doesn't (now that Scott has clarified the DSB position in Germany).jak10x1 wrote:Mine also have 20 year max, but how does the 10 year life relate to them?
Morini are not members of JSM, a group of manufacturers including Steyr, Walther, Hammerli, Feinwerkbau, Rohm, Anschutz and Weihrauch.
They are the people who have stated that their compressed air cylinders should not be used beyond 10 years.
