David, I'm curious. Why no one from U.K.?David Levene wrote:http://www.bssb.de/modules.php?op=modlo ... ndex2&c=22

If you look VERY closely Fred you'll see 1xAP40, 1xAR60, 1xAR40 Junior and 1xAR60 Junior.Fred Mannis wrote:David, I'm curious. Why no one from U.K.?David Levene wrote:http://www.bssb.de/modules.php?op=modlo ... ndex2&c=22
I am sure we would have had more Juniors but several have only just got back from the Australian Youth Olympic Festival.
Other than that, finance, performance and politics.
And note they are listed as GB not UK. A subtle difference but might mean you don't spot the names.Fred Mannis wrote:David, I'm curious. Why no one from U.K.?David Levene wrote:http://www.bssb.de/modules.php?op=modlo ... ndex2&c=22

Thanks Rob. I always get confused on the proper nomenclature. When I lived in Wales (many years ago), I was always careful to distinguish Wales from England from Scotland :-)RobStubbs wrote:And note they are listed as GB not UK. You're not the only one who gets confused Fred. The GBR team is actually chosen from the UK (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland). The IOC couldn't understand that so justed called it GBR.Fred Mannis wrote:Thanks Rob. I always get confused on the proper nomenclature. A similar situation happened in FIFA football [soccer] a few years ago when Brazil complained to FIFA that why should a tiny island [well small compared to Brazil] called the UK have 4 football teams in the world cup and they only had one, yet they were 20 times bigger.
They just could not understand the UK's individual countries that make up the United Kingdom, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Together they are the UK. After it was explained in detail to the Brazil officials, they suggested that there should be just one UK team. Not being that interested in football, I'm inclined to agree with Brazil.
Peeps.
