The highest button of the rifle jacket

Does anyone know if the highest button in the rifle jacket should be shipshape or or maybe it is better to not have it???????
Funny, today my shooter tried to fix this problem during practice session in air rifle... BTW I hope that was not his post ... :-) Finally he did not find any important difference in score as well as spread on a target. He found however that too fastened button causes some tension in a back, that may cause additional wild spread of shots...
Just my 2 eurocents :-) in this subject..
