Standard Air Pistol High Noon Competition

Post by Bubba »

Well, it just happens that a friend of mine and I have acquired five shot repeaters. His, an FWB and mine a Steyr LP-5, from Pilkington's of course.
Noticed a Standard Air Pistol class in the High Noon competition. I sat out to find the rules. I have a friend that sent me some ISSF rules, and they showed some target demitions. In examining those rules I noted that the date was January 1993. I went to the ISSF web site and found rules dated 2000 something. In those rules they showed a turning/falling target, and gave the dementions. I could not get the demintions for the Standard Pistol target from the ISSF site.
I would participate in the High Noon competition, and might be able to coerse some friends to do the same. BUT, I need the demintions of the target, and any High Noon Specific rules that might apply.
By the way, the Styer LP-5 PCP pistol is a fine piece. I think that it might be possible to give these repeaters away, with the condition that the customer purchase all pellets and supplies, targets, shooting glasses, and all the other stuff, from the dealer that gave them the pistol. This is not reality, but does make the point that the repeaters are consumers of suplies.
Thanks in advance for any help. I remain,
Respectfully,
Bubba

For the Standard match just use the same target as the regular Air Pistol match (Edelmann # 2000)or simular. 5 shots in 10 seconds starting form the 45 position. The current ISSF rules are all I know of for current rules.

Edleman 5022???

I wonder if the Edleman 5022 target, shown on page 4 of the Edleman catalog as a rapid fire air pistol 10 m target might be the one that the ISSF approves for Standard Air Pistol?
It seems to me from an attempt to read the rules, that the rapid fire and Standard air Pistol targets can be the same. Unless the Rapid fire are falling or turning targets.

The Rapid fire events have undergone a few changes over the years to try and make it more appealling I guess. It origanlly used turning targets or the light system. Now there are two rapid fire events one is falling target- five metal disks that you knock down in 10 sec. (similar to biathalon just a different size) and the other event is standard which you shoot 5 shots in 10 seconds at the normal 10 meter AP target. If you get a chance you should come up to the Canadian Airgun Grand Prix, both rapid fire events have been added as official events this year. Last year we ran them as demonstration type events and they were very popular.

Re: Standard Air Pistol High Noon Competition OK, I get it

Thanks for the information. I will use the standard 10 m pistol targets for Standard air pistol, in the High Noon Competition.
I will help fill out the field, so that winning is worth more to the winner than if they were the only entrant. Now if some of the other folks with 10 m style 5 shot repeaters would shoot, we might have a good time with this.
Again thanks for your consifered and informative replies.
Respectfully,
Bubba
