COLO SPRGS, CO (May 20, 2025) – Griffin Lake earns the first medal for the U.S. at the 2025 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) Suhl Junior World Cup with a bronze in Junior Men’s 50m Rifle Prone on May 20.

Lake, who shoots for West Virginia University, secured a podium finish by shooting an overall score of 624.6. See official results here.

Hailing from Emmaus, Pennsylvania, Lake has enjoyed a standout 2025 season, highlighted by an NCAA Championship title with West Virginia University—marking the program’s 20th national championship. He continued his impressive run by capturing both the men’s air rifle and smallbore titles at the 2025 USA Shooting Junior Olympic Championships. Lake’s junior Olympic performance qualified him for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games Air Rifle team. He will represent the U.S. this August in Asunción, Paraguay.

Lake is no stranger to the international stage. He won bronze in Junior Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions at the 2022 ISSF World Championships and competed for Team USA again at the 2024 ISSF Junior World Championships.

He will continue competing in Suhl this week in the Men’s Air Rifle and 50m Rifle 3 Positions events. See the full schedule here.
