I am looking for a pistol case suitable for a Morini 84E. I don't have the original case so I am looking for options. Anywhere I could purchase an original case?

Do people usually remove the grip when traveling with electronic pistols? That may open up some options.

Thanks!

My case developed some cracks around the hinges, and I looked into getting a replacement through Neal Stepp at ISS. It was going to cost (if I remember correctly) well over $200. It took some fussy fiddling, but I decided to replace the hinges with a small piano hinge. That was probably 6 years ago.

I think an attache case would work fine, be more rugged, and less conspicuous.

Basically all cases for Olympic type Pistols made by European manufacturers use Negrini for their OEM-gun cases, if that is of any help. Sadly Morini charges a bit more than the others for the exact same case that others sell for almost half the price.

Look for a used Doskocil “gun guard” pistol case.
They were made in sizes for your use.
They were very nice, having metal trim, hinges, keyed latches, plus a “briefcase style” swivelling handle.
The interior is usually a robust “egg carton” foam. But, it can be changed if you like.

PS: there’s a very nice Pelican Storm case for sale in the classified ads right now! Very strong and weather-proof!

Thank you all. I was able to get a cheaper pelican style case that was a great fit.

I use a no-brand aftermarket case for my TOZ. Size-wise it’s pretty good as it’s very slim.

That's an interesting concept.
I have an 84E and would like to be able to (easily) remove the grip, but there does not appear (to me) to be an easy method.
Can anybody advise whether this is easily do-able, and how?

Thanks,
49er

Before you can remove the grip, you need to remove the electronics. Take the plate off the bottom, and pull the circuit board out. If I remember correctly, there is one screw that holds the grip on, and it's up inside the electronics cavity, towards the back of the grip, above the switch area.

Although it's designed to handle a certain amount of plugging & unplugging to change the batteries, I would be concerned about wearing out the connectors if you have to do it every time you go to shoot.
