Trigger Stops

Post by northstar »

Could we have a discussion about trigger stops? How to create, how to adjust, what’s the theory behind the my?

I suggest the lack of replies has two implications:
a. Very few use them and utilize them. Some older triggers don’t have one except the natural limit of travel built in to the unit. The stop would jar the movement disturbing position of the firearm.
B. Less understand the second part of the above.

The pistol trigger stop helps with quick shooting and follow up shots.
A Air pistol or Free pistol does not require a trigger stop, it may only help if your trigger collapses after the break.
With Standard and Rapid it will help with the faster shots by shortning the trigger over travel.
Beware if set too short then you will pull the barrel offline with a accelerated trigger (off to the left for a R/H shooter).
Set the after stop about 1/3 to 1/2 turn past the sear release point, after travel should be about 1-2mm only.
