1911 pistol choices

Hello all
I took a break from shooting (2-3 years off)
I just got back into it a couple months ago and it's like starting all over again
I sold some of the pistols that I used for bullseye
For my center fire pistol I had a Sig p210
It was nice but I never really loved the trigger (it was ok)
So now I'm looking to get another pistol and was thinking of a 1911
I never owned one but tried some in the past
I would like to get some suggestions from any of you on what brand/model should I look into
I've been looking at
Kimber
Ruger
Springfield (I look at some and not really sold on the quality/workmanship)
Colt?
I'm looking at the 9mm variant and looking at a price range of $1000-$1600
Any suggestions please let me know
Thank you

I have an STI Trojan in 9mm that is very nice. Although I believe they are out of production now.
Upgraded the trigger to a 2.5# one. Used it for an IDPA 'cheater' gun. Recoil far less than a .45.
Haven't shot it in years. I should dig it out and do something with it.

Although nothing compares with a P210 Target!

Don't bother fooling around with a CF pistol. Use a well-tweaked .45 and put ALL your effort into it. (I like good ol' Colt.)

Agree with Rover. Find a good bullseye oriented club to shoot at, and ask around. There have been lots of good gunsmiths creating match grade 45s over the last seventy years. Many, if not most will still be much better than recent factory products. Clark, Giles, Pachmayr, Chow, we’re all greats! Any there are many more in the hands of us old farts, so visit, socialize and ask.
