Сylinder gauge changing

My cylinders are about to fall foul of the ISSF 10 year rule,but a friend has given me 2 cylinders that he doesn't use,but one has a broken gauge,how easy is it to swap a gauge from one of my old cylinders?

Broken gauge? My experience has been that the gauges are not "wonderful."
Unless the cylinder is leaking at the gauge (not uncommon), don't even bother with it.
Use it as is.

Also, unless you are attending big matches, no one cares about your cylinder dates.

Swapping gauges is do-able, but it is much easier on some brands than others. You will probably need a special pin spanner, and a safe way to hold the cylinder securely. Here's a whole thread on the subject:
