Given the cost of targets and current supply chain issues, I bought a roll of these 2.5” adhesive dots. They are actually 1/8th inch shy of 2.5”, making them just about 1/8 larger than the black of a pistol target. I find they work quite well, of course you can’t easily score them but you know damn well where the center is. Speaking of supply chain hooliganisms, I bought a roll of 500 of 2.5” just a couple weeks ago and paid about $13 for the roll. Hope this is of use for folks here. I get so much from this board, I’d like to feel that I can add something to it.

There's always downloading or creating an image of a target and printing it out. It doesn't create clean holes like a real target but it's good enough for most purposes.

Given the cost of replacement ink cartridges it might be cheaper to just buy the targets. If you have a piece of cardboard behind the target/sticker, it makes a decent clean hole.

Assuming you can hold at least within the black, save your old targets and cut up the unused portions to make patches about 1-2" square. You can then tape or glue a patch to the back of your target in use.
You can spray paint these patches black if you like. This preserves the appearance of the black.
I glue them on with aerosol spray adhesive, but tape or white/yellow glue works too.
The nice thing is, you still get clean holes, albeit the scoring rings get obliterated pretty quick.

Oh, I dunno. I get toner cartridges for about $70 and they can print several thousand pages. I print two targets per page (I omit the 1 and 2 rings so they'll fit). So when you include the cost of paper, I'm probably only spending about three cents per target. If I use card stock, it's probably four or five cents. The last targets I bought were eight cents each.

If you guys can print out a target that's as nice as Edelmann or Kruger, I'd like to know about it!

Obliterating the scoring rings is no bad thing in practice/training. With no scoring rings you can focus more on group size and where the group centre is. Only need to score in a match when you’d most likely be using new targets anyway.
