Is it common to set up without an overtravel stop?

The attached video shows a K12 not utilizing an over travel stop. Maybe this is superior?

An interesting question for air pistols. For .22,CF and .45 I would say trigger stops setup for a shorter stop helps in sustained fire. As there is no sustained fire for air pistol, I have questioned and tried a short length and long trigger stop. In either case I never seem to squeeze all the way to the stop after the break. The additional force build on the springs after the break seems to be enough to stop movement. SO, I would say setting very short is not what you want as you do need to be able to squeeze through the break.
