Does ribbed pellets damage the barrel as the pellets are lined straight but the pellets move in a circular motion.

Ribbed pellets do not damage the barrel as the pellets are made of a lead alloy and the barrel of your gun is made of steel. Compared to your barrel the pellets are very soft and do not damage your barrel whatsoever.

Agree completely. Plus, the skirt only really touches the barrel at the bottom edge. Look at some of your fired (aired?) pellets to see what I mean.
