Erratic behavior Steyr LP2 (again!)

More than two years after my post https://www.targettalk.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=60674 I went back to shooting the LP2.

I have adjusted the trigger according to the David M's detailed instructions (thanks again!) and this time with a real 500g tension gauge.
After the adjustments, the "don't touch screw" was secured with a tiny drop of Glyptal Red.

On the bench, the pistol was just perfect, while adjusting, I dry fired it many times - never an issue.
With a target, it kept shooting great for the first 20 shots. After that, 20% of the time it was firing while pulling the first stage.
It never fired by itself, without the finger on the trigger. Perfect behavior for the remaining 80% of the shots.
I went through 40 shots before giving up.

Time to take it apart the trigger and clean up everything? Other suggestions?

I believe at this stage, a bigger hammer is traditional.

In your prior post on this subject last year David M posted a whole setup routine for this trigger.
What he posted is exactly how I set mine up to my liking. If both of us came up with the same methodology independently, I will assume that it is sound logic, and my trigger has been perfect for the last 6 years. While I have a LP10, I assume that the LP2 is the same.

It is possible that one of the below three is the culprit?
Not enough sear engagement?
Too much weight on the first stage?
Some lube on the sear, along with not enough engagement, causing inconsistent/premature release?

Best of luck.

This. There was old gunked up grease on both springs and on the sear.
Taking apart the trigger and cleaning up everything solved the problem. Thanks!
