Spirit Levels - Slip On Vs. Screw In

Post by lyoke2 »

I am looking at getting some new spirit levels for my 18mm front sights. I have a handful of the slip on version (http://www.champchoice.com/store/Main.a ... s&item=591) but they are difficult to set and keep consistent.

Do the screw in levels come loose? Is there a recommendation on brand/quality/features? Anschutz, MEC and Gehmann are all in the same price range with just slight differences in markings.

Thank you!

The screw in spirit levels are great once you get them set. I wouldn't describe them as easy, but light years ahead of the slip on ones which are just terrible in every respect. One of the girls on my team purchased the Anschutz one; it was fairly easy for me to set it (I just had her hold the gun up in offhand and we adjusted it through trial and error. Can't speak to the Gehmann one but they make good stuff so it should be good as well. Once you get the setting you need, they do lock down pretty good.
