Hi everyone.
I have an early model (00985b), I’ve seen a video or two of people pulling the trigger with the trigger unit out of the pistol, then “resetting” by pushing down on the part that pops up.
Is this a valid way to check trigger adjustments or is it essential to put the trigger Unit back in the pistol and Dry fire With the red block inserted, each time a small adjustment to first and second stage travel and weight is made.

You can do all the adjusting you need to except the final position of the trigger shoe without the unit in the frame. HOWEVER, the "part that pops up" is the hammer, and you don't want it hitting the cross pin without some cushioning. You want to cut a piece of leather or rubber a couple mm thick and about 6mm wide & 25 mm long to slide between the cross pin and the hammer to cushion it.

This is great advice. I will do the final adjustments at the range in the normal way, but it's a new pistol (for me), and the previous owner shot with a much different pull/stage setup than I like so this will save time getting to at least a close setup.
I have to wait 4 more weeks to pick it up, but have been lucky enough to be able to visit the store to shoot/clean and install the Rink Grip (Thomas Rink, after some emailing back and forth agreed to make it without the grip code on the left and without the R logo on the right)

And thank you for your wonderful Cleaning videos on Youtube. I'm still trying to locate a pull through plastic cable like you used in those.

A simple pull thru can be easily made from a piece of weed wacker line. Melt and flatten one end like a nail head and cut the opposite end at a sharp angle.
Nice looking Rink! Do you still have the original Nill grip? I would be interested in one in large size.

I do indeed have the original, it's certainly a large and way too big for me. I have a medium Rink now.
But I'm in the Netherlands, so I don't know if it's worth it for you with the postage. I'd take 50 Euros for it, then you would need to cover postage of course.

Interesting grip marking! The Nill grip on the one I purchased several years ago does not have the Benelli logo, it has the usual KN branding.

It also looks a bit "slimmer" and more rounded on the ends than the current Nill design. The heel of the palmrest, for example, is rounded and the finger area is more carved out at the pinky, and without grooves.What are the date codes on the frame (two letters inside that square box on the forward right side)?

Looks like just what I need. Any idea what shipping to the states would cost?

I really like the Nill grips, but everyone is different, both in terms of hand size/shape & preferences. That said, I have a Rink grip on my MatchGun MG2 (Nill doesn't make them for the MG2), and with a bit of shaping, it's just fine.

The pull though cleaning cords I use are made from grass trimmer cord. However, I actually machine a nylon "button" to go on one end to make sure the patch is a good fit in the bore. I make them up in quantity for the team I coach, but I got the idea from a commercial product called a "Patch Worm":

I don't know if they are easily available outside of the USA, but in these days of global commerce, you may be able to get them shipped pretty much anywhere.

There are no date codes, but this pistol is from the late 90s, early 2000s I believe, I'm not sure where to easily check the serial number.

Most grips for me don't fill the palm of my hand well enough, this one I ordered with the extra volume but also convex and it fills my grip much better. The large that was on the Benelli when I bought it is "ok" but of course when you have to raise the palm shelf 1.5 or 2cm, all the contours are out of place for a medium hand. I have a Protouch 5D on my walther lp400 which i'm lucky to be able to increase the volume easily.
Dad had a Rink on his walther SSP which was a good starting point for my own needs.
