Steyr LP10 #13 O ring

Post by seamaster »

My LP10 is leaking air around 29.3 Pressure Reducing Housing.

O-ring size is 18x2, bought some Viton 85 hardness 18x2 o rings from Grainger.

Still leaking. Any explanation?

Remembered last time this happen awhile back, 18x2 did not work either. I have to pay some $60 for a LP10 seal kit. That seal kit 18x2 oring is green and harder.

Do not want to pay that money again, any help? I saw on EBay, there is a British LP10 seal kit for about $15, but wonder if it will turn out just like those Grainger o rings, no good .

I have had new O rings in the past not seat being too small.
Try Nitrol 90 and go up in size.

Polyurethane O rings with a high Shore hardness are better under high air pressure against nitrile or viton with the same Shore number etc, etc. You can have custom rings made if you cannot find the hardness you require, they can even test what you have and produce the same. You don't have to have thousands made either (usually), pals have had just one made at a reasonable cost.

Over the years I have found Nitrol 90 are good for 7 to 10 years in Airpistols.
Hardness is not the problem, size is.....

My travels to Washington state gave me this most excellent supplier as reference.

If you click the "2.40mm" tab, there are many options.
