I need parts for a Walther LPM-1

After a couple of weeks of working pretty good, my newly-acquired Walther LPM-1 has given up the ghost. It looks like its piston has stopped pisting. This is the early model (1993?) of the LPM-1, before the one with the compensator. This one just has a fairing and the barrel is about 30mm longer than the newer model.

The old piston is also different, with just one guide ring instead of two.

The parts I need are:
2615703 - Piston -- This is for the new model - I don't have the part number for the old
2615738 - Guide rings
2504227 - Retaining clip

Note: The piston will not work without the guide rings. It will not sit properly in the pumping chamber without them. I want the retaining clip as a spare, for when I lose the original one.

I've called Pilkguns, Earl's, and Umarex in the US. I emailed Judith Billharz in Germany. No one has the replacement parts.

You could also try contacting Walther direct, explaining that their dealers suck.

Thanks for the link.

I know of Protek, and they do list the piston on their Walther page.

Unfortunately, they are, as we used to say during World War II, "Closed for the duration."

I suspect that Walther already knows this.

I was hoping that someone would respond that they had a drawer full of LPM-1 pistons that they had been trying to get rid of for years.

Buying old pistols like the LPM-1 is a gamble. Most are fine, but every once in a while you buy one that needs work. Some can be fixed with available parts, and some need critical parts that are no longer available. These guns, I put aside and hope that someday there will be a fix.

So I'm still looking for an LPM-1. Perhaps one day I'll find another.

If you can find someone with machining experience & equipment, you may be able to get some parts repaired or fabricated from scratch. I've made a few simple parts for Tau-7's & IZH 46M's when they were otherwise unobtainable.

Depends on the condition of the vintage pistol. If it's a safe queen, you'll probably only need to change the seals. If the pistol is all beat up or worn from the outside, there are more probabilities of mechanical problems down the road... Also consider the FWB 100 series pistols, should one come your way. There are more available spare parts in the market than the Walther.

Not to beat a drum too loud BUT....... Airgun parts get a bit crusty over time as aluminum corrodes a bit .... Usually a disassembly and a scrubbing of everything with a toothbrush and a good oil gets the old oil varnish out of the way..... If you merely oil an old gun, there is a good chance that the old varnishes from old oil from hears ago gums up and stops things after a short while...... Just thinking out loud.....

Just for reference, this is that part I'm looking for. This is the piston from the LPM-1. When the flared skirt of the nylon part wears down, the whole piston must be replaced. No O-rings, no amount of cleaning or fiddling will fix this.

Fortunately, I think I may have found a domestic source for this part.

I'm still looking for another LPM-1.

Neal Stepp from International Shooters Service

He doesn't have the parts in stock, but is going to order them from Walther. Estimate is a couple of months.

In the meantime, I'm shooting my CPM-1.

Good ol' Neal. He also sells RWS Basic pellets the "old" way; 500 pellet tins in sleeves of 10.

Here is a refurbished one. Description says new piston. Overall condition like new.

Sehr schön!

I had Pilkington repair mine, but I sent him the seals (O-rings) needed.
