FWB Air Cylinder thread

Post by RifleNUT2 »

I have a Feinwerkbau Model 800 Evolution and yesterday dropped the air cylinder tube on the ground and damaged the male tube threads. Can you tell me the correct thread count/pitch or the die needed to re-thread the male tube threads?

Thanks!

From measurements taken off the bleed cap, I'd say it's an M18 x 1.5.

Just wondering how you will rethread using a die when the start threads are the damaged ones. Going to have to split the die first with a Dremel or crack it open with the die holder I guess.

If it were me, i would be looking for a metric thread file

Use a very fine 60 degree file to "dress" the thread, and then chase the threads with the proper die. Chasing the threads is vital, as you do not want to damage the threads in the receiver.
