Dry firing a Daisy 753s

Hi all -

I have a new Daisy 753s, and I'm trying to find out if it can be dry-fired safely. Unfortunately, I've been getting conflicting responses. A text chat with Pyramid said it wasn't a good idea, but if I did it, to be sure to pump the rifle, as just using the bolt could damage it. A message on this board from 2004 seemed to indicate that it was actually designed to dry fire by just using the bolt. Is there anyone who can answer definitively? I'd like to practice by dry firing, so this wouldn't be an occasional thing -- more like hundreds of shots in a session. Any advice and/or experience would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,
Gryffin

Thanks for the advice, John! Did you pump it, or just use the bolt?

Thanks again!

Pull back the bolt to cock then push back in. No pump.

You could always contact Daisy and ask them.

Good advice, Gary! :)

And here's the official word from Daisy, in case anyone else needs to know:

=============
Hello!

I'm working on training for competition, and I'd like to spend a
considerable amount of time practicing at home rather than driving to
the range. My question is this: Is it safe to dry-fire the Daisy
753s? If so, should the rifle be pumped, or should just the bolt be
pulled back? Any advice would be appreciated!

Many thanks!

Yes, it is safe. Only pull the bolt back.
