Steyr LP 10 Velocity
What FPS should my new LP 10 be adjusted to. It was using a lot of air so I checked and it was shooting around 610 FPS seems like to much. What should I adjust it down to, Joe
Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
So how many FPS is that
Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
I don't do Imperial.
Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
Ok I guess I want to ask what owners set there guns at for maximum accuracy I did see the you tube video that's factory not always the best, Any other suggestions, Thanks Joe
Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
For maximum accuracy stick to factory specs, 155m/s to 160m/s (502 fps to 524 fps). That's why they recommend it!joe139 wrote:Ok I guess I want to ask what owners set there guns at for maximum accuracy I did see the you tube video that's factory not always the best, Any other suggestions, Thanks Joe
Use 4.49mm close to 7gr pellets, like RWS R10 or H&N Final Match Pistol.
Test to find out more on what your barrel likes. Check this treat: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=51440
If you don't get one hole under 5mm you screw the test.
When you break the 594 mark with this setup let us know! ;)
Hope this helps
Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
Thanks I set it at 515- 520 most of them are about 517- 519 should be good, R-10 4.5 - 7 gr. Joe
Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
That's good enough for Government work.
There's talk of changing velocity to adjust group size. There's also talk of pellet testing to select the best one.
Just shoot the damned thing and be happy!

Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
As per the FAQ on Steyr-sport page you want your LP10 to run 510 fps/155mps. That is around 120 shots pr. cylinder. If you get fewer you may be running to hot and vice versa.
Steyr is said to test with RWS R10 pellets
Hope it helps

Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
I doubt these recommendations are primarily about accuracy. I rather suspect it’s the Vo range the absorber operates most effectively. Action (E0 Pellet) + Reaction (E Absorber) = 0
Absorber energy is a given. It cannot be adjusted. The only way to get a balance is to play with pellet weight and air volume. I think that’s where the recommended V0 values are coming from.

Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
I was going to say that mine is adjustable and I checked it and it is working properly thanks for the video, Joe

You are absolutely wrong.OTD wrote:I doubt these recommendations are primarily about accuracy. I rather suspect it’s the Vo range the absorber operates most effectively. Action (E0 Pellet) + Reaction (E Absorber) = 0

The stabilizer is fully adjustable, and it's operation is powered by an adjustable spring, not air.
The air is only used to release the catch (black skinny part on top of the bolt), what powers the weight is a spring.

Hope this clarifies
Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
I'm enjoying this!
Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
Me too, but I reckon that loads of practice will be needed before anyone here can out-shoot the gun.Rover wrote:I'm enjoying this!
