Opinions on IZH 35m and price
I found an IZH 35m at a somewhat local gunshop. Obviously it is used because these have been out of production for quite some time. It appeared to be in excellent condition without any marks that I saw. It comes with 2 mags as well as two tools. I didn't get a chance to check to see if it comes with a spare parts kit at all. What do you guys think about these pistols? Also, what is the going rate for one? I have a Smith and Wesson 22a that shoots great and will shoot one ragged hole groups at 25 yards but it just doesn't have the trigger or grips that I am looking for. My main purpose for it is bullseye style shooting. Thanks in advance for any help I can get, whether it be good or bad.
Revised- Opinions on IZH 35m and price
I would be reluctant to purchase any pistol that is no longer supported by any US importer.
They are generally good shooters.
See if the Canadian importer can support it-

Re: Opinions on IZH 35m and price
I have one of them, brought it on line from a used gun dealer couple of years ago for under $300, but have seen them go for as much as $600, mine comes with only one mag while its mechanically sound and function perfectly, its looks a bit "homely", also able to purchase 2 more mag from egun for 50 euro.
The Walther KSP is a more refined version of the 35M, they imported a number of them to Germany some time in the 90s, install better grip, up graded the finish...etc, parts are interchangeable but seems like Walther no longer have any in stock.
The 35M is the most reliable .22 target pistol I own and I have a few, so far I've yet to have a FTF or FTE stoppage, accuracy is on par with any other pistol I have and doesn't seems as ammo sensitive, trigger is OK but not great or has as many adjustment as the more refine pistols, it does not have hold an open device. Since its design to shoot with open sight, mounting a scope or red dot would be difficult but not impossible.
As for spare parts, Nurmich has some, egun is another source. if the 35M is in good condition and the price reasonable, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, hope this help.

Re: Opinions on IZH 35m and price
I appreciate your responses. The dealer wanted $495 but said he could do $435 for it. The problem is that I live in New Jersey and need to get another pistol permit. I didn't really want to go through all the hassle of getting my permit and find out it wasn't really that great of a gun. I have an IZH 46m that I should probably put up for sale to help fund the izh 35.

This bloke here has managed to write a novel on the IZH35m:

I think they are alright: getting parts might be a problem is all. Also the barrel shroud screws tend to work lose, but that is easily solved with a screwdriver.

Re: Opinions on IZH 35m and price
I had an IZH35 (the model before 35M) from 1991-1999 and it was a fantastic pistol. Never missed a beat and I found it easy to shoot.
As for the shroud coming loose, well that wasn't problem on mine, as it didn't have screws just a spring loaded button under the muzzle. We can blame America and it's obsession with putting optic on pistols for that modification. It was done because the scope rail is attached to the shroud and the original version was no good because it moved around.
Didn't Marina Logvinenko win the 1992 Olympic Sport Pistol gold medal with one? 587 + 97 in the final.
As far as I know, it's still in production (but who knows about availability) as the MP-35M http://www.imzcorp.com/en/company/45.html
