Mounting Leupold EFR to Anschutz 1907 Receiver.

So I just got my 1907 in a 1912 stock tonight. I already have my Leupold EFR and have some Talley 11mm rings left over from my CZ. It seems like the Talley rings are the right size but since the grooved receiver on the 1907 is humped it bottoms out on the rings before the dovetails engage. What do you guys typically use? I know the Leupold EFR's are very common on Anschutz rifles so there must be some very good options.

Also whats the best place to buy spare Anschutz parts? I'm missing one of the 2 large adjustment nuts on the adjustable cheek rest. I'm also thinking of replacing the lock bolts that hold the cheek rest and butt pad in place, they're not stripped but show a bit of wear from repeatedly being taken on and off.

For proper eye relief, you can't go wrong with this scope base from Anschütz: http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/index.ph ... hoerID=808

Those "lock bolts" are simple M5x16 or M5x20 socket head cap bolts that you can get at Home Depot/Lowes ... if you have a bunch of kids shooting these rifles get a bunch ... the concept of fully seating a tool seems to escape them ... I usually go around at our JO qualifiers and even at the JOs handing these out.

The adjustment stop nuts I think you can get from most of the gun vendors.

So is this the correct scope base?

Its nice they actually have a LH model, I'm used to getting screwed lol. $70 actually seems like a bargain for an Anschutz custom rail, figured it would be $150-$200, I better not give them any ideas lol.

Yes that is what you want, it is Carl's improved version of the Anschutz rail. Some of the Anschutz rails would not return to zero when remounted.

Ok I ordered the scope base from Champion Shooters, I realize why its so cheap now, they make it instead of Anschutz. I asked about the height adjustment nut, they said they never get extras so I emailed Anschutz North America. Worst case is I can get one made at a machine shop I guess.

I simply use Sportsmatch high rings. For my offhand position the extended ring set works best.

Well if I can use my $50 Talley rings I've already got then I'll be happy. An added plus to the scope base is I can remove the scope easily and return to zero. They way the Talley rings work with one screw at the top and one at the bottom I would have to set up the scope every time I removed it.

Try Neal Stepp at I.S.S. 817 595-2090 for parts. He may have them, I've purchased the odd screw and misc. part from him. Best to call and it saves time if you have the part number. Good luck.

Well I just realized that the adjustable cheek rest is only supposed to have one adjustment nut not two. Guess I'm good to go, may replace the work bolts at some point, they're not too bad but figured might as well keep it in good shape.
