Hi guys

I am looking [possibly] for a new sling. I have had one of the centre pull Centra Slings in the past but the buckle pulled through the holes and the strap snapped. It was one of the thicker ones but still failed. To be fair that was about 3 yrs ago. Im interested in peoples views that are currently using one. And or alternatives
Thanks for the advice

Thank you for the reply. The thing that turns me off this [but have no experience with them to be fair] is the bulkiness of the strap

Slings are very personal, you probably have to try one for a few weeks to know what works for you. What I like about this one is it stays in place and the adjustments are fairly fine. With the other slings I've tried the position would decay during a long string. ... sling slips down the arm slightly, position becomes lower, start looking out of the top of my eye, vision starts to decay, shot gets rushed....

I ordered one of these based on the opinions of many here.

I was just about to recommend the Hata Sling, too. Yuji's a great guy, and his slings are excellent. They're very similar to the Kurt Thune Double Buckle in material and construction, but they're around half the price, plus they're made in the USA.

If your sling slips down and around the arm, which is admittedly pretty disastrous, I would suggest that you add a hook type sling keeper (like the Kurt Thune one) to whatever other device you have for keeping the sling in place. Probably works best with a Thune sling, at least that is the limit of my own experience. Just watch that the hook doesn't slip out of its hole unnoticed - has happened to me with really bad consequences for my shots.

For me the decision would be easy. I would go with the MEC Centra sling again. They are now much improved over the original slings. I have quite a tight position and my sling is now 12 months old and no sign of problems. Lots of these slings in clubs and at top level. Personally they didn't really reduce pulse much but so much more comfortable and more stable over a long match.

I got an ctra small for my daughter, it is a fantastic sling, and the service was very good.

Hi

My main "must have" with a new sling is that it needs to be self centering. I had an earlier model Centra as stated and like the concept of them. Just didn't want to have the same issues as the last one.
