How accurate is the Kimber 1911 Rimfire Target Conversion Kit..?

I have never run across anyone using one in bullseye. That alone might tell you enough.

The only one I have ever seen in action was at our local range and he was having feeding problems with it about every 3 or 4 magazines. Accuracy - I didn't know the guy shooting it but he had a 6" group going at 10 yards. To be fair I don't know what ammo he was running so that could have been both the feeding and the group size problem.

How accurate is the Kimber 1911 Rimfire Target Conversion Kit..?

At Camp Perry (the US National Championship) I see lots of Marvel conversions. I've never seen a Kimber conversion. So in qualitative terms, not accurate enough for competition.

Thank to all for urefull information.. unfortunately I cannot get a Marvel in Italy.. not yet imported. Almost 20, maybe more years ago I had a Kart conversion.. and stupid I sold..!

The come to Camp Perry next summer. Marvel is there so you can buy one, and shoot the match since you made the trip anyway:-)

I have had the Kimber conversion for 5 or 6 years. It is great as a tool for general practice. But, at least in my hands, it's not the right tool for Bullseye. It requires high velocity ammo for reliability. I used to think it was accurate until I shot my first target pistol (a High Standard Victor).

It resides on a 1990 Norinco 1911A1 frame, that I have had for25 years and have upgraded with Wolfe springs and Wilson parts.

For $100 over the price of the Kimber, you can get a Nelson. From what I have seen it is more accurate and much more reliable with standard velocity ammunition.
