Free Pistol in the Bay Area

Anyone know of a range in the S.F. Bay Area that has a 50M (or 50 yard) range for free pistol? The range closest to me in Concord (USI) has a 50 yard rifle range, but they don't allow pistols on that range.

Rodolfo has been running matches on that range, including free pistol I think. Chabot might be the next closest, depending on where you are. I do not know about general public access at Concord; the only times I've shot there have been for matches.

Sunnyvale Rod & Gun (in Cupertino, just like the name says) has a multi-purpose rifle/pistol range out to 100 yards with stands at 25 and 50 yards. But that's a hike from North Bay.

See califpistolmatches.com for match info.

Coyote Point range has 50 yard lanes and open to general public three days a week from 7pm till 10pm. We also have free pistol matches every month. http://coyotepointrpc.org

I know this isn't in the south bay BUT its Free pistol and sanctioned. If you shoot the 6 matches, you will get an NRA Classification card. PM Me for details on how to get involved. There is a snag in the description..... The B35 target at 25 yards is being used, the ref to the B19 was an error.....

USI allows 50 yards pistol on the public range. Those are the first 6 lanes on the left side of the right hand range. (or the first six right of the control tower). You have to demonstrate your competency in order to be allowed to use those six lanes. This usually means you have to demonstrate that you can shoot one handed without cross firing. In a lot of cases they don't check. I did not demonstrate my competency, I simply show the RSO my Morini, and that was enough.
If you are a member, then you can use the member range, you can pretty much shoot whatever you like, anywhere from in front of your face to 200 yards. There are even two lanes that are 50m (NOT 50 yards). But you have to make sure someone acts as a RSO, otherwise the range is closed, even to members. There are no "working hours" for the member range...you just have to arrange it.

PS. San Leandro Optimist Club also has 50 yard ranges. I almost always take lane 1 because apparently I am one of the very few guys who shoots free pistol on that range...I believe the first six outdoor lanes are good for 50 yards.
