Some help for an old Toz shooter

Its been a while since I've been active on this forum. I moved to Arkansas when I retired 5 years ago. There was supposed to be a range with competitive shooting just outside of town, but by the time we had moved they went out of business. So no competition within a 2 hours drive and the closest range was 50 miles away. Its not that they don't have guns. They do. But they don't seem to be keen on this organized stuff. So I did a really dumb thing. I sold my LP-10 and the rink grip off my Toz. Dumb, dumb, dumb...

So the wife got tired of the tornado alerts in the middle of the night and we moved to Florida. At least you know a huricane is coming. Well, I found a range that is only 20 miles away. No competition, but at least I can shoot when I feel like it. I had my Toz out there today. I put a replacement center on a target frame out at 50 yards. The range guy came over and asked me if I thought I could hit it. 50 shots later I had half in the black and 3/4 on the repair center. Not bad for a 4 year vacation.

So I'm going to see if I can get back to where I used to be with the Toz. The problem is me selling the Rink grip. I am using the grip that came with my well used (abused) Toz. It has no palm shelf and the right and left sides are from two different , well butchered grips. I looked up Igor's blog and got a copy of his grip article, but it would be really nice if I could get my hand on a complete original grip. There must be lots of those horrid grips still around. If someone would be willing to help a funds strapped old fart and let go of one... or a butchered morini, or a broken rink - I'd sure appreciate it.

Larry,

Have you been to Hernando County ? The shooting range there hosts an International Match on the 4th Saturday of each month.

I am in Citrus. The Hernando Sportsman Club is about 50 miles away via secondary and county roads. Way to far to shoot often enough. I shot their match. I think there was 4 shooters. Way different than WCW in Washington state where we would put 2 to 3 times that many on the line for outdoor night free pistol.

There is an indoor range in Wildwood that is about half an hour away via highway. They charge by the hour to shoot. I normally spend 3 or so hours at a range, so I'd go broke quick, even if they had a 25 yard/meter shooting distance.

I ended up joining the Phoenix Gun Club over in Brooksville. It's about 20 minutes out there. It is outdoor, 25/50/100 yard rifle and pistol. I'm only going over every other week until I can get a usable grip on my Toz... and some decent ammunition for it. I'm currently shooting HV hollow points (Winchester 555) because it was the only thing available. Rim fire ammo is getting really spotty again.
