Welcome to Week Seven of this Year’s Vermont Winter Postal League. Attached to this document you will find a copy of our week 7 individual bracket matches congratulations to our winners. Albion PA, came in first place this week, (1580), and now has an 10 point lead over Plattsburgh,(the Northern Division Leaders), for first place in the league 11046 to 11036. They were led by Joe Shrader who fired an impressive 400 in 4-P. In Second place was Whitehall NY (1578), (the Southern Division Leaders), they were led by Louis Pratt and John Hollister who both fired a 396 in 4-P. Tied for second place this week was Plattsburgh, led by the trio of Norbert Yakey, Peter Visconti and Andrew Visconti who all fired a 395 in 4-P. Fourth place went to Jamestown NY, with a 1573 just seven points separated the top four teams.

Besides our Top 4 teams being so close in score this week; we had two other close races week. Hudson Falls out shot Rochester 1494 to 1490 for 9th place Hudson Falls was led by Robin Morris with a 383. Also in a duel of three person teams Niantic finished ahead of Northfield Maroon this week 1151 to 1146, they were led by Eric Sloan 390 in standing and Rudy Gomes 390 prone.

Congratulations to Pointe Claire PQ for their third place finish in the Northern Division this week, they were led by Jose Vila with a 370 in prone, Jose outshot his son Thomas (369) by just one point.

This week’s Top 4-P shooter was James Perrin of Rochester, and Joseph Shrader, of Albion, who both fired a 400. Congratulations Jim and Joe on this accomplishment. The top Prone shooter this week was John Liska of Barington, 398. Our top Standing shooter was Andre Gross, of Rochester and Eric Sloan of Niantic who both shot a 390. Our Top Junior Shooters this week were; Clayton Hanson, 399, Jamestown, 4-P; Andrew Visconti, Plattsburgh, 380, Prone; and Andrew Gross & Eric Sloan, 390, Standing. Individually, Clayton Hanson is our 4 -P average leader (396.85). David Higgins (398), is or prone average leader and he is also our standing leader with a (393). (See results below for a complete list of averages). Special word of caution a shooter must fire in at least 5 matches to officially placed, while we will not remove anyone from the list, the overall league champion must compete in at least five matches.

Match 10 will take place at the Plattsburgh Rod & Gun Club, April 11&12 (those too far of a distance to travel need to mail in their targets before then). Relay times will start on the hour starting at 9am Saturday and 10am on Sunday. You can start reserving your spots at any time. I will also need to fit in air rifle relay so if you have any, air rifle shooters, planning to attend please send me an e-mail so we can coordinate that. Clubs are also welcome to spend the night at the club Friday or Saturday night if that helps you in your travel plans.
