Anyone knows if there are reduced target for air rifle from reputable companies? If I keep using SCATT to print reduced targets I will run out of ink pretty quickly. I know, and own, Reduced air pistol target for 8m.

I shoot in a winter rifle league, and we have targets printed at a copy shop. Naturally they don't have target paper, but they do have short fiber card stock that cuts very well with target pellets . If you needed "official" target paper, then you can have them print on the backside of official targets.

Do reduced targets take into consideration pellet size, or just make the target smller?

The ones produced using Scatt software don't reduce scoring rings correctly for live fire.

Others are dependant on whether the prson who produced them knew what they were doing

Just draw a circle about 80% of the ten meter diameter and color in black with magic marker. Don't worry about score!!

Right now I am practising using normal target paper, and just pretend that the edge of the black is 1 ring.

We have 6 Yard targets here in the UK, with the aiming mark adjusted to match the 10m target. The scoring rings are the same size as the pre 89 UIT/ISU 10m target, so a 1mm diameter ten ring. At a guess outward gauging using the 9 ring as the bull looks to give a reasonable idea of if you would have scored a 10 at 10m.

I think that it can be very difficult to compare performance at ranges reduced from 10m. Generally when shooting at longer ranges the errors introduced by movement of the gun laterally in relation to the line of fire are very small in comparison to those movements that are essentially angular. so at longer ranges sway induced errors remain small. A 5mm lateral movement of the rifle will move the shot 5mm at any distance. While a 5mm error at 5m, caused by rotating the butt in the shoulder in relation to the sighting line, will cause a 10mm error at a target 10m away. The real problem is that it is very difficult to differentiate either type of movement from the results at shorter range. So trying to compute a "score" for a longer range is difficult.

The NSRA sells the 6 yard targets. They are still very popular with the Scouts, and also some cadet organisations. The NSRA still produce a range of older style targets for various competitions. The Cadets & Schools target for 25 yards is one that is pretty specialist, but is also used for some other competitions. The C&S is used by my local County League for it's precision LSR competition for example. They do it in a Tin Hat version for those still shooting the Enfield No8 Cadet Rifle.

I don't know about funny, but the NSRA 6 Yard target is usually printed on a square paper as a five spot target. The aiming mark is pretty small as you can guess, and the scoring rings are the same as the pre 89 ISSF (UIT as it was back then) 10m target.
