Question about Champion Olympic shooting frames

Hi,
I just received a new pair of Champion Olympic shooting frames. I found a great guide on setting then up:
http://www.precision-sports.com/cusfit.htm
But I'm a little confused about the angle of the lensholder anchor which can be pushed left or right by screwing the blue barrel nut, but apparently it cannot be rotated around the cross piece. Using the angle of the temple sides to the cross piece as a plane, is it normal for the nose piece and lens holder to subtend an angle a lot les than 90? The cross piece is way above my brow line. The lensholder assembly anchor points back towards my face so I had to rotate the lens holder away from me. It just seems so weird, wrong. The anchor does not point in a line at the target, but towards the floor around the target.
Can't take a picture because they are at the opticians getting some lenses fitted.
It's this normal? Can the lens holder anchor assembly not be rotated around the cross piece?
Thanks,
Jab
