TOZ-35 free pistol

Post by bigaaron »

Looking through some of the posts and other infor I see the Free pistol
TOZ identified as TOZ-35, TOZ-35M, TO3-35, and TO3-35M
What's the differences between these guns, or are they one in the same.
Thanks Aaron

Toz 35m is the newer model of the toz 35. It can be distinguished by a rib around the centre of the barrel and the same at the end of the barrel to hold the sight on. Although almost identical they were beleived to be inferior to the 35

35 has a fixed/bonded front sight 'mount', 35M is secured with a setscrew and is removable/adjustable.

35 has a rounded trigger guard, 35M is larger and shaped like a DES69.

35M has a barrel band in the middle of the forend, the 35 has a milled slot, instead.

The tab on the end of the cocking lever has varied in shape for some reason. The quality of the wood varies, too, which was probably determined by the location of the factory.

Action function and performance of both are equal, a TOZ will shoot better than you can.

TOZ's wer manufactured in several locations and QC varied. The finish on some are smoothly polished while others got blued after a rub with a file and a quick pass with 100 grit emery.
