FWB Price Question.

I have a chance to buy a FWB 700 black W/Front sight. (No rear sight)
I cant find a price reference for it, it's a few years old, needs a rear sight, and new air cylinder. He wants a certain amount between 1.5 and 2k but I think it might be too much. Since a nice sight is around 450 and a tank is 225.
I'm up to tomorrow to decide. Kinda in a hurry here,

Well look at the current value of one new which is 2700-2800ish then start knocking off money for the pieces missing, 225 for the cylinder and around 475 for a rear sight so we have 2000-2100. How much do you feel it to have depreciated? If it looks like a service rifle knock off say 700 but if it's near mint knock off like 300ish. Based on these SWAGs I'd say between 1300 and 1800. These things tend to keep their value for a while, for example my almost 30 year old Diana 100 is still worth about 600 and it's not even new technology (PCP).

Thank you! I very much appreciate your reply.
It's in great condition. 85% or better. just some enamel paint missing from the butt plate "hook" from being on the ground and a few light scratches here and there.
Will I be able to use my Anschutz universal (20 click) sight on it without thinning the rail? I do have a Bidgeport milling machine, so thinning the dovetails is a possibility.

All of the rifles use the same width 11mm grooves on the receiver, so all rear sights are interchangeable. It is the foresight dovetails that vary between manufacturers, and of course with Anschutz between 14/18 series rifles and 19/20 series rifles. I use an old (1964 vintage) Anschutz 6502 rear sight on my daughters Walther LG 400 when I have a shoot with it.

Not all rear rails are the same. Some sights like the one from your 6502 sight is probably a universal model fitting all rails. When I ordered my 10.9 sight raiser blocks (10mm) they were custom made for my brand rifle.
I could be wrong though.

The rifle I was looking is out of consideration now, thank you to everyone offering sales. I have found a 700 now. Very nice rifle!
