Senior Smallbore in Michigan

Hello gents.

I found this site after searching for an Anschutz 1413. Some time ago, I shot four position competitive smallbore at a local range. At that time I was able to compete up to age 18 but of course college etc got me sidetracked.

I sold my 1413 rifle package to a gentleman in Oregon and have missed shooting smallbore once the Annie was gone.

I am looking for an early 70s 1413 in excellent condition, but also interested to know if there are any senior smallbore shoots in SE Michigan. I had been shooting at the DSC indoor range, had known the Rickerts from the early 80s.

Sorry for the long post, but as I know it's my first I guess it's as much an introduction as it is a question about what's going on in SE Michigan.

There are opportunities to shoot smallbore in SE MI. Not as many as there used to be as when we had the smallbore league. At the DSC we still have a small but active smallbore group that shoots Monday afternoons (retired guys). There are also a few registered matches around. There are more opportunities for air now. First most people can shoot in there basement and don't have to worry about the lack of .22 ammo around. Additionally, Camp Perry has some kind of air match almost every month. You can contact me for additional shooting in southeast MI.

Thanks guys. I recall the DSC used to have club shoots on Tues evenings and Friday evenings from (I think) 6-8 or 7-9. Then again that was 30 years ago. Since I'm in that neck of the woods it would be easier for me to get out of work and tag a few targets as practice. Or. . . I'm going to have to ask my neighbor if I could set up a berm backstop for backyard practice (laughs).

I'll have to poke my nose around some of the ranges here for anything closer, but for comps, it would be good to take a weekend trek to OCSC or Ann Arbor again. I also recall shooting in Centerville OH for a small outdoor comp.
