Who has onus over AP Matches, etc?

Ok, so in my research before I jump into the sport, I'm looking around to find the organization that runs the 10m Air Pistol events, as that's what I'm looking at getting into. However, I'm finding nothing much on the NRA matches site, and CMP only lists air rifle. I see things that fall under USAS, and that's cool, but does anyone else have "jurisdiction" over AP matches? The reason I ask is because I'm soon going to find myself touring to different NRA/CMP matches throughout the USA on a team. If I can sneak off during down time to hone my skills in another discipline through competition, I'd like to do that (obviously providing that it doesn't interfere with other matches). It gives me something to do in the off season, too. Also, submitting packages to the team for USAS events doesn't seem to have the same weight as NRA/CMP. It's just not that kind of team, I guess.
Also, I'm looking into most of the matches, and it seems to have a preponderance of youth shooting information, and a lack of the same for adults. I understand that this match is kind of a gateway into the bigger stuff for kids, but I see adult participation at the Olympics. One would assume that some of the weight would fall to adults looking to expand their disciplines. Am I off my rocker?
