In the men's 10 meter AP final - why was Narang's rifle covered with masking tape?

If I'd guess: the tape is covering weights, it reduces glare or it looks better. But that's just guesses, someone else might know more.

I have not seen the pictures you are talking about,But may be its covering a non compliant sponsor sticker or something??

There was masking tape on a lot of them, I think its almost certainly advertising stickers being covered.
