When I purchased my Toz the trigger shoe was rotated such that the face of the trigger was opened toward the trigger finger, similar to the picture below.
I figured it was for a good reason and I shoot just fine with it so I just left it as is, but I've always been curious... why?

AFAIK the TOZ is the only FP which allows complete freedom of trigger blade rotation angle without affecting the quality of pull. It is an amazing design, and fortunate because the trigger reach is rather long for those of us with shorter fingers, even when the trigger is in the rear-most position. So the short answer to your question is that the prior owner probably had short fingers. You can set the blade rotation and height any way which works best for you, but
be sure to follow the instructions given at
http://www.pilkguns.com/tenp/default.htm, or you
will affect the quality of pull.
