Ok so this may sound like a pretty dumb question but how do you cock the FWB 700? I have read through the manual it tells me to pull the lever back which I do but the sear doesn't catch on anything and I can't dry fire the rifle. Any help would be appreciated

The FWB 700 has a small black lever on the left side of the action near the breech that you have to move before dry firing can take place. Do you have an owners hand book, it will be explained in there.

Yeah I read and tried that but I still can't dry fire the rifle
edit: I also still cannot fire the rifle even with the cylinder screwed in.

To cock it, you lift up the action so it points straight up. When it does this, you push it backwards (Towards the butt plate) even more until you can feel and hear a slight click. It should spring back a bit. You can now put a pellet in the barrel, put the action back down and shoot.

Hope it helped!

Sounds like the sear has been adjusted too fine and its not latching?

I would agree that the sear is out of adjustment, but if you have questions after reading the manual call this forum sponsors gunsmith & he can talk you through the process.

Well...it took a few hours of poking around my gun until I realized that the recoil absorber had been turned partially during the shipping process.
Also your suggestions that the sear was adjusted too low happened to be correct as well.
