There is a book by Ragnar Skanåker, the sweedish top shooter. I learned a lot from it. It describes all the ISSF pistol events along with detailed info on how to shoot them, how to train for them etc.

Competitive Shooting by Dr. Yur'yev. This is the finest, most comprehensive guide to marksmanship available. More of a bible, than a guide.

Laszlo (sp?) Antal's book - cannot recollect the name. Found it on Amazon.com, do a search.

Also Paul Leatherdale's book is good. Again, cannot recollect the name of the book. Found it in a book shop in London. This is the book that brought me back to pistol shooting after an almost 10 year break!

Antal's book is incredibly comprehensive.
Leatherdale's is a bit more like a handbook. Sound advice, good illustartive photos, does not dwell too deep into the subject.

A decent list of books addressing the ISSF pistol disciplines is here:

The two worthwhile books on US bullseye shooting are:

Hebard, Gil, ed. The Pistol Shooter's Treasury (2nd ed.). Knoxville, IL: Gil Hebard, 1973.

Ross, Ellen, ed. Three-Gun Pistol Bullseye Shooting. NRA Clinic Series, Vol. 7. Washington: National Rifle Association, 1987.

Several good ones already mentioned, but I'd add "With Winning in Mind" by Lanny Bassham.
