I have read of another shooter being able to date his Smith & Wesson revolver by looking at the inside of the combat grips. Can anyone confirm this or can the gun be dated from the serial number. Mine is a full-lug 14-5 and I think it was made in the 90's.

S&W can date it with the serial number.
