Qestion for Eric U: shooting glasses

Post by Albert T »

Hello Eric,
To bad the Dutch shooters where not good enough to be a threat for you in Fort Benning :-)
I noticed that you use DIY shooting glasses. Many of my clubmembers weare glasses but are not in a position (or do not want) to buy professional shooting glasses.
Can you enlighten me in the way you adjusted your shooting glasses to fit for (prone) rifle shooting, so I can help some club members?

Thanks,
Albert

If I'm not mistaken, Eric uses Junkers shooting glasses. These are made in Germany I believe. We buy them here in the States from Neal Stepp.

I don't know what he's actually using, but I've got a set from Bob Jones in Arizona that look very similar.

Basically, they've got very long rods for the nose piece, and Jones bends them so that they're offset way to the (right handed) shooter's left.

My glasses are Junkers. They are made in Switzerland I believe and are still in production. You adjust them by heating and bending with pliers.
