Opinion on choice between CH2000, 2009, 753, 888/887, other?

I need help choosing an air rifle for my son for 4H, 3P 10meter. overwhelmed with what to get, narrowed it down a bit though. Son is 9, 4'9", 75#. I do not know about all the CO2, PCP, stuff and the rules. just looking for advice be it good or bad on each of these, what other stuff do I need. Talked to a guy earlier that was great, didn't want to just sell me what I thought I wanted, wanted to get me what I needed, now just need to make a logical choice. What would you buy knowing what you know now. He is a good shot, but we skipped the bb gun and pellet stage, went to 22's and 223's.- 223 at up to 350 yards and hits a 8" bull 80% or better. Never really has shot open sights, he shot a 499 tonight and hit 4 bulls out of 9 and the others were in the target at 5 meters. not bragging, just history of his shooting experience. thanks in advance---mark

depends on how serious he is and what your budget is going to be. You need to get something that is lightweight and that can be adjusted to his fit. I hear the Avanti's are good 4H guns. I saw a compressed air crossman match rifle last weekend. Didn't shoot it but it was very lightweight and I think less than 500. The olympic shooting coach has told me that Air Arms makes a nice rifle that lists for around 1200 but can be had for 850 new. I know someone who has shot the more expensive FWB700 quite a bit and bought the air arms and likes it better.

Does he want to shoot International (Precision - Standing)
3-Position ( Precision or Sporter)?
888/887 - Ch2000 - T200, etc are all 3-P sporter rifles.
The precision guns are the Anschutz's, FWB's, Walthers, etc
Precision guns are about 4X the price of sporters w/o the gear
A sporter setup can be had for less than $500 (888/87). Most of my shooters use 888s or 887s
For his size I like the T200, but I just received 2 of them and they have really garbage sights .... both are out of the box broken and unusable ... (they are the CHEAP chinese deals) ... so you should plan on an extra $100 of so with one of these to get the Spanish Gamo's.
