Seeking Walther Free Pistol for Board Development

Back in 2006, we had a conversation about Walther free pistol electronic boards. Some owners have found themselves with orphans because Walther stopped support for these boards, which had a reputation for failing.

I’ve been looking for, and have not found, any further developments for replacement boards.

This issue has continued to interest me over the last five years. I have the time and desire to see if I can come up with a replacement board.

In order to do so I need to buy a pistol. If you have one you might sell, see my ad.

Apparently, someone beat you to it. Check out http://www.targettalk.org/viewtopic.php?t=27747, third post from the bottom (first page), by Richard H.

Thanks; I missed that in my historical review. I'm trying to learn more.

My intent was to generate an open source design that could be used by individuals. I am not an FFL holder and have no desire to sell such a product due to personal liability issues.

An engineer friend of mine about four years ago builtna few boards for the Walther Free pistol. He moved to the US and I don't regularly talknto him much any more.

He use to be on this board to his name was Deepinder Singh.

I own a Walther FP and am extremely happy with it. It's definately a piece of fine engineering. I was advised not to store a battery in it and only put one in when I shoot it. Last shoot I only had one miss fire out of about 70 shots. Does anyone have any spare parts, manual, etc. for this gun. Has anyone developed a reliable circuit board for it??
