The Boston Globe (which is a notoriously liberal newspaper) recently published a very nice article and a video about the pistol team at MIT. I thought people would enjoy seeing the competitive shooting sports portrayed in a positive light for once:

I have rarely, maybe never, seen an unfavorable story on any of the International-style shooting sports show up in any magazine or newspaper, however liberal. But what's nicest about this article is how long it is and how well the writer captured the essence of pistol competition, competition with yourself.
Over the weekend the Washington Post had an article by one of its most liberal columnists, about the DC gun laws, and what it's like for an anti-gun novice to shoot with one of the plaintiffs in the suit to allow more gun sales in the District. It was surprisingly even-handed, even rather complimentary.
Thanks for the link.

That is a good one indeed. ... and close to home.
Finally a good read from a Liberal news publication source.

Very nice to see the young'uns at MIT shooting again in NCAA competitions. They shoot all ISSF events from SP, WSP, FP & AP and are quite a good group of kids (bright to say the least). I coached against them years back and they had a "coach" then who didn't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground. We used to have "interesting if not confrontational" (between coaches) matches. Too long to describe and not to mix into the tenor of this thread. Hooray for the MIT Pistol Team and good luck in their championship season. "Doc'

great accolades for the sport, and as said before a well written article. I have met Will years ago when I first bought an air pistol. he invited me to see the range and talk to him and some of the shooters. that visit really helped to ignite my interest in target shooting.
