pellet ?

Post by keith »

Ive been shooting the RWS 7.0 Meisterkuglens out of my IZH-46m which have a 4.50 head size.....Ive noticed that these pellets tend to have to be carefully alinged when I insert them into the breech, and then they kinda go in with a slight snap....How much does head size affect accuracy ?Ive noticed pellets with 4.49-4.51 head sizes....would it be to my interest to try some smaller head pellets?

For air pistol, it doesn't matter. I bench tested (holding an IZH46m on bag, not a Ransom Rest) sizes from 4.48~4.52 and didn't notice any difference. Certainly not enough difference to move a 10 out to a 9. Similarly, I've used (and currently have on my shelf) 7 and 8.2 grain pellets ~ I'm using the 8.2's right now (though in an LP10, haven't used my IZH much since buying the LP10 but I seem to recall using the 8.2s in it as well). The "seemed" to be less sensitive to flingers, but I'm sure that's 99% in my head.

Use whatever you have available, so long as they aren't Physically damaged there should be no issues. Maybe when AP gets to the level of AR and you're struggling to hit that 600 barrier, it'll be an issue. :)
