Placement of rear sight

Ok. Let's say you have two air pistols A and B. Both of them have a sight line of 350 mm but on A the rear sight is placed right above your palm and on B the rear sight is placed 50mm behind your palm.

I would suppose that the sights on B would assume to move/wobble more than the sights on A considering the same errors are made. I feel certain that your sight picture would not be the same on the two pistols, but I am unsure as to what the pros and cons are.

Anyone?

In case B the rear sight is closer to the eye and is behaving more like a peep sight. I in order to maintain the same degree of alignment of the front blade in the rear notch, the notch in case B would have to be narrower.

For a given sight radius and lighting situation, I suspect there is an optimum distance for the rear blade from the eye, such that the front blade is in sharp focus, the rear notch is in reasonable focus and the front blade can be accurately aligned in the rear notch.
