LP 10 question

When firing a LP 10, is it normal to feel a slight puff of air on top of the firing hand? This feeling was very pronounced so I replaced the seal under the bolt. It has been reduced significantly with the new seal, but it is still there slightly. Has anyone experienced this with their LP 10?

I have owned an LP10 since it first came out and have never felt that. Seems really weird to me.

If your LP-10 is still puffing lightly, can it still shoot five shot single hole groups with a vice, and have you access to a chrony to see if the velocities are constant?

I don't know the LP10 very well but is it just a matter of adjusting the position of the barrel slightly to make it seal against the bolt.
This video shows how to do it.

The velocity is low...480's and that is all I can get out of it. The adjustment screw for velocity will go in no further. It will not shoot 1 hole groups. Sounds like it might need to go to the shop.

Velocity should be around 510-525 fps.
Sounds like a defective o-ring.

Have you tried the adjustment that David suggested? It's easy enough to try and would save you taking or sending it for repair. There's even video from Steyr on how to adjust it.

Thank you David for the tip and link to the Steyr site. Repositioning the barrel cured the "puff." Thanks to all for responding.

Yes, and even worse: pellet velocity from MY one year old LP 10 starts to slow down when the pressure gauge is 3/4 down in the GREEN zone! Point of impact changes gradually and signifacantly too, from this pressure level.
Check your own LP 10guns with a chronogaph, and bring the results here, please.
My relaitvely new LP 10 gives off a noticable 'puff' of air from the rear end of the barrel at discharge, and it did so from day 1.
Could this explain the decline in velocity from 'well up in the green zone'?
I'll now try to reposition the barrel to cure the 'rear-end-puff' of airl
(Doesn't Steyr have a reliable quality control?)

I wouldn't have thought the velocity change would be that consistant.
If the gun's regulator and the valve are working correctly then the pressure at the barrel/bolt interface will always be the same, no matter where the cylinder gauge is in the green zone. (I seem to remember you had the same problem with more than one cylinder, therefore ruling out a faulty cylinder gauge).
Did you get the regulator tested as was suggested before?
