I started thinking about getting an air gun a few days ago and I have been doing a lot of resource and decided that I want to get a FWB 65/80 or a SS2 clone. I dont want to spend to much on one since I am not sure I will like it, normally I shoot F-class. Any way I found some really good deals on some FWB 65's in Australia.

At the current exchange rates the guns are about $308 US dollars each. How hard is it to import an air gun? I imported a sword from england once and i had to pay $80 dollars shipping. What laws would apply?

why not simply e-mail Tex and ask?

May I suggest you shop around a bit more? $360.00AUD is not what I'd consider a good price. Last I heard, my club had three FWB 65's for sale at around $100.00AUD and they've been on the market for almost two years. (Almost) No-one wants these 'old clunkers' now. :)
I don't know if the club would be willing to undertake the work required to allow one to be exported though, but I could ask if you're interested but I make no promises.

An export permit from this end and an import permit from your end at a minimum.

Where are you? There are lots of FWB 65s in the US. I sure as hell wouldn't bother trying to import from Australia.

I tried to buy a 65 a while back for $100 US, but they were a little weird about taking my check.

Plenty of them at $300 or less.

Don't let anyone BS you, these guns are very competitive.

Bear in mind some FWB spares are simply no longer available.

I still got my old FWB 80 and have purchased parts from the Feinwerkbau factory in Germany with no problem whatsoever. I guess they should have plenty of parts for the 65 as well.

She's shooting fine and is still capable of five shot single hole groups...

I live in in Waverly NY which is in Tioga county. The $100 dollor FWB 65 sounds like a great deal, but it might be to much hassle for the club...
