hi all!

im currently using a fwb p40.. and have been using this model since 2006. however, i noticed that during world cups and major compeitions.. not many ppl uses p40.. its like only at most.. 3? haha.. any idea whats the reason behind choosing steyr over fwb??

secondly.. i will be changing pistol soon to a morini..still waiting for grip to arrive.. can i ask if there is any difference between a morini and a fwb p40?? like in terms of weight and triggering and the recoil?

I think the P40 suffered from the the P34 which wasn't a very good pistol for the money (there were better pistols for the same or only slightly more). The P40 was followed by the P44 in a relatively short time, so the P40 became sort of an orphan. I really like the P44, but it too doesn't really offer anything over a Steyr or Morini and they want the same price for it.

Things like the smoothness of the trigger, overall quality of the materials and construction, the adjustability, features and the effectiveness of those features. How well the pistol fits you and can be adjusted to fit you. To me price really isn't the important factor it's value. There are reasons why certain pistols are more popular than others, it's usually because they offer the features and quality at a price the shooter is willing to pay ( that is value).

1 Reliability - those malfunction rules are crippling if the pistol/ammunition combination hiccups more than 1:5000. If it don't work, it's an expensive paperweight
2 Fit - I have short, fat fingers
3 Accuracy

Ooo.. That's alot to consider when purchasing a pistol. Lols. Anyway something caught my attention. Do different pistols have different accuracy?like the tighness of the grouping?? I'm quite noob at this stuff cuz I have never used other models before besides fwb p40

Yes air pistols can group differently, but top end air pistols (which you are talking about) all should group pretty close and unless something is wrong with it the groups should be acceptable.

Visier in their air pistol tests shoot 60 pellets in a target and all top end pistol hold the 10 ring easily.

In my own testing with 30 roundgroups, ALL shots were inner 10s with ALL pellets tested.

Go with the best fit.

If it is not performing as hoped, smack it hard on the bench a few times shrieking curses. You'll feel better and upset the other competitors.

It is possible that the reason why (top) shooters do not like the P40 (P34, P44) is the distribution of the mass, I mean, the point of balance is much closer to the trigger blade, the Lp10 (not to mention the old Lp1!) has a barycenter much more in front ... the other reason could be that the position of the barrel (maybe) and of the back sight (for sure) are higher than usual, this is very good for our neck, but isn't good for an easy shooting ...

icic..i tested my fwb p40 pistol once with r10 pellets to see the grouping..the grouping was quite big..then we concluded that it could be becuz the pellets themselves are not exactly all the same.. lols.

hmms.. then how about morini compared to steyr?? the main difference would be the triggering i suppose? cuz morini uses electronic triggering..? and i know there is a new model of steyr that uses electronic triggering as well..~~
