Hi,
I'm looking for a way to mount a red dot sight on a Styer LP 10. Would appreciate suggestion for how and rings, etc.

I'd buy a spare shroud and drill and tap it. That way you can still sell the pistol when you're done with it. Are you using an LP5/50 to practice bullseye?
Pilkingtons has mounts, check at the bottom of this web page.

Hydrographics in the U.K. make a weaver rail adaptor for the LP10 and the LP50.
The LP10 version is here :-

I have the LP50 version

The LP50 version would not let you operate the cocking lever on the LP10.

Richard and Cones,
Many thanks for your suggestions.
So far, looking at Richards suggestions, I have determined that a new barrel casing is about $200 and when added to mounts, rings, and machine work I am looking at $300.
Cones suggestion may be more cost effective but I have not been able to contact the UK company. Cones do you have any other contacts I might use to get to the company or its dealers? The web sites you give are very interesting.
My wife and I are planning a trip to Ireland from May 14 to 30 and perhaps there is an Irish dealer.
I suppose you may wonder why I want to make the LP10 illegal for competition. I'm 83 and not going to the Olympics any time soon. I like to shoot.

This may help
Hydrographics

msykes.1REMOVETHIS@btinternet.com
You need to take the REMOVETHIS out of the above for it to work.
I think my rail was about £90 UK Pounds.

It looks like these all mount (at least in the rear) by replacing the rear sight. I have a Docter red dot sight, which is very short and light that I'd like to be able to put on my LP50 without removing the rear sight. Does anyone know if the scope rails attach to anything in the front, or do they just fasten in the rear where the sight normally attaches? If so, I might be able to cut one of the rails in half & just use the front mount.

Hey whatever it takes to keep you shooting. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Yes, both of these weaver rail units replace the rear sight. The install with the same mounting hole as the original unit.
